The American Heart Association's mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all they do.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder .

The Houston Hispanic Forum is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization focused on improving Hispanic achievement in the greater Houston.

The Houston Public Library system serves the City's culturally diverse community by offering a broad program of free educational, informational and recreational activities through a central complex and neighborhood branch libraries.

Established in 1988 by Houston’s Mayor Kathy Whitmire and the City Council, the Houston READ Commission addresses the literacy needs of Houston's adult population. A nonprofit urban literacy coalition, the Commission provides no-cost literacy services for adults and families.

Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund

Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund is a non profit 501(c)(3) and their mission is to provide college scholarships, support and guidance for Houston area high school students in need of financial assistance whose potential may be unfulfilled due to circumstances beyond their control.

Sheltering Arms Senior Services is a nonprofit organization committed to the health and well-being of older adults and their family caregivers. Its mission is to promote the dignity and independence of older adults through service, advocacy, and support for caregivers.

The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare agency in North Texas with two shelters and two spay/neuter clinics located in Dallas and McKinney, and serves as an active resource center providing an array of programs and services that bring people and animals together to enrich each others' lives.

United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, Inc. is a non-profit corporation providing services to individuals with all types of disabilities and their families. As an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy Associations, the agency supports advocacy , public information and education, and research programs.

Established in 1910, The Urban League is the nation's oldest and largest community based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its local affiliates.

NARHA

NARHA was formed in 1969 as the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association to promote equine assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs. At almost 800 member centers, a total of 42,000 children and adults find a sense of independence through involvement with horses. These member centers range from small, one-person programs to large operations with several certified instructors and licensed therapists. In addition to therapeutic riding, a center may offer any number of equine assisted activities including hippotherapy, equine facilitated mental health, driving, interactive vaulting, trail riding, competition, ground work, or stable management. Through a wide variety of educational resources, the association helps individuals start and maintain successful equine assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs. There are more than 30,000 volunteers, 3,500 instructors, 6,300 equines and thousands of contributors from all over the world helping people at NARHA centers.
