Ad Guidelines
- A word is considered anything with a space before or after it. Punctuation is free. Phone numbers with area codes are considered 1 word. Prices and email addresses are 1 word
- ads require phone number or email address at the end of the ad. (Garage sales and employment ads are theexception)
- No website addresses in classified ads.
- Online photos MUST be of actual item. No recognizable faces in the photos.
- All Pet ads must have a phone number in the ad.
About classified advertising
The Classified section is set up for the sale of tangible items, real estate and employment. Our classified department does not accept ads that offer SERVICES with the exception of:
- Child and nursing/education
- 1-on-1 tutorials/music lessons
- Animal stud service
- Baby/pet/house sitting
- Dog walkers
- Sewing/alterations out of the home
Service advertisers are better off advertising with our display department. However. if a customer is offering a service that relates directly to the item being advertised, it is acceptable. Example: GE REFRIGERATOR: $150 with warranty. (713)555.2122 Example: ELECTRICIAN: ANYTIME, reasonable rates. (713)555.2122. This ad is unacceptable! A service is being offered, there is no tangible item. For service advertising, contact our display sales department
Premium Listing Upgrade:
This an online only upgrade that allows a customer to include button in the detail page of their ad to direct a user to email them, print the ad or email the ad to a friend. In addition it ensures a premium placement within its category.
Nonprofit:
The ad can be about an event, employment or volunteer opportunities. We cannot allow for request of donations in any ad.
